He says dogs are more fun and easier to take care of than cats. He says its nicer because you can have a routine with dogs vs with cats theyre more independent..
  • 03
He also says lazy people choose cats. over dogs.. This kind of annoyed me because obviously it depends on the person and just because you prefer getting a cat, does not mean you're lazy.

Cats are still a lot of work. My boyfriend doesn't even leave the house some days and is just stuck inside, so i'm telling him it's gonna be a hard adjustment having to take your dog outside to walk and play every day.

I want a cat because i know that i'm naturally a homebody who doesn't go anywhere much.

I'm a low energy person in general. Also-- we are just barely talking about getting one lol, we realistically wouldn't get one in like a year or two- but he was insisting that people on reddit would agree with him lol.

MorboKat Dogs are easier... yet cats are for lazy people? I'm confused. Wouldn't lazy people want the 'easier' animal?

awakeagain2 I think he's got it a bit backwards. I've had many cats and about six or seven dogs. You show cats the litter box and that takes care of that. In no way can you compare that to house training a dog. I can be away for a day and know my cats will be fine. Dogs require more advance planning. He sounds like people who think cats are for women and dogs are somehow more manly.

thwowawaw69 Original Poster's Reply Yeah i wish he could just say that he likes dogs over cats lol. He doesn't have to go through hoops justifying his preference. But thanks for your comment :)

gretchyface Have you heard the thing about people who strongly dislike cats don't believe in consent. They dislike them because cats interact on their own terms. They want something that will blindly comply with them, not a companion with free will. Just something to think about.

Brilliant-Flower-283 If dogs are easier then how are cats for lazy people? He doesn't even know what hes trying to say he just doesn't like cats.

Illustrious_Put_817 By dogs are easier... he means easier to control should be a masssssive RED FLAG for you. - I have both dogs and a cat. My cat is on an auto feeder, I scoop her litter once a day- she is basically easier than a houseplant! Cats are definitely for the lazy and I 100% support it! If you're not 1000% in DO NOT GET A DOG, they will know and also you'll abandon them the second things get hard. My dogs are 14 and 5 and caring for my senior dog involves walks every 4 hours, and my 5

If both partners are not on board with getting a pet and not in a committed relationship heading toward marriage don't get a pet just to play house it's childish, and traumatic for the animals to change owners.

Beautiful_Lychee_965 I have both and the 2 cats cats are so, so, so, so, sooooooo much easier and require not 1/10th of the effort my dog does. Much easier to be a lazy person with the cats at the very least, the dog is an aussie and requires lots of exercise and potty breaks etc, minimum 2 hours a day for that stuff and that is the low side...l dont really HAVE to do anything for the cats except feed them and clean thier litter box though they do have lots of toys and like cuddling

hankenator1 I recently rescued 2 feral kittens who were about 4-5 months old. They were born outside, lived outside, never came in a house until they were trapped and brought in. Neither had ever seen a litter box in their life and just instinctively knew that's where you go to the bathroom. There was zero training involved, they just knew.

hankenator1 Yeah, he just wants a dog and has terrible reasoning for why since his logic is 100% contradictory.

Lumpy_Benefit666 Tell that to my cat who makes me get up every 10 minutes to let her in and out of my room.

asadatacoscontodo What his logic is ...weird lol If cats are for lazy people wouldn't cats be easier? 0.0 this is why I don't over think the things people say, they don't even know what they're saying
